Welcome to the Paddle: Neck and Shoulders Class!

This course will take you through a series of corrective exercises from range of motion exercises, stretching, postural re-education, motor control drills, strengthening and dynamic stability exercises... The course is geared to help prevent injury and improve your paddling and surfing longer in life. At the end of the exercise sequence, you can see our 'Daily Check' which will be a tip or cue for you to think about throughout your day where we recommend a few products that will help you achieve your goals to move well, surf well and be well.

Hi, I’m Shane.. I’m a physical therapist, massage therapist and surfer. I have spent the last 4 years growing my private practice Surfer's Edge Physical Therapy focusing on keeping surfers like YOU in the water. I believe that staying involved with surfing contributes to an overall improved quality of LIFE...decreases stress levels, and improves your health.. So what better way to keep healthy than to keep surfing?? I want to help you prevent injuries, and keep you on your surfing journey!

A little more about my background.. I have spent time researching paddling and surfing and even partnered with Cal State San Marcos to investigate paddling mechanics.. I am passionate about keep aging surfers in the water too! (check out the links below). My education background includes a clinical doctorate in physical therapy (DPT), a B.A in Pscyhobiology, a Certification in Massage Therapy (CMT), and SFMA, TPI, and FMS Level-1 Credentialed. I also spent time teaching surfing in Nosara, Costa Rica and was a children's snowboarding coach at Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe, CA.
